I bought one of these just under a year ago, for my birthday in January. I was a bit wary of it as it seemed rather pricey, but I have been convinced it was worth the money.

I bought it as reviews read elsewhere pointed out that if it broke, Brabantia's excellent customer serice would provide replacement parts free of charge, to ensure that it did indeed live up to its long guarantee.

Not that mine has broken, however - far from it.

11 months on, it looks as smart as when I bought it. The matt steel basically does not show marks, the 'touch' top is easy for even my toddler to use, but stays shut even when absolutely full, and keeps smells to a minimum.

A well-made, quality product, that does what it claims, whilst looking discreetly smart. Highly recommended - no faults at all I can think of.

Our old cheap pedal bin broke a while back, and we have larger versions of these bins at work so I knew they were pretty rugged. This one is just the right size for our family of 4 - its full and needs emptying just before it starts smelling. The lid is excellent - keeps the smells in, and easy to clean - I even spotted my wife washing it in the sink the other day which would have been unheard of with our previous bin - that used to be my job and one I am delighted to relinquish! It looks great too - the brushed finish doesn't show finger marks which is essential with small children in the house. The Brabantia bags are also worth it if you buy in bulk - they fit perfectly as you would expect.

I recently purchased this bin for my new kitchen and although it seems like a lot of money, it's fab!! It doesn't show any fingermarks, doesn't smell and holds a lot of rubbish. I would thoroughly recommend that every kitchen should have one.

Ive got to admit I never look forward to mopping my floors but with 2 small children and 2 cats its essential to keep things clean and safe...but I can see them getting done a lot more frequently now!
The mop is very easy to put together and looks great. Once I'd filled it up and put the lid on properly I was away and steaming. It was ready to use really quickly with a lovely blue light in the tank. Its so much easier than i expected and a lot less hassle and mess than the mop and bucket I bought at B&Q. I used it on my stone floor and on my oaks floors and both came up lovely. I was a little bit worried about the wood floor, but the booklet said it was fine. In fact there is an easy to follow dial on the front which you adjust to tell it what you are mopping. I was expecting to have to fill it up a few times, but I did all of the downstairs in one go....and I wont ever loose the filling jug coz it clips to the stem. How clever is that ?!?! On first impressions, this is very good. It's the first steam mop i've used and was surprised by how easy it was to use, and very fast and easy to assemble.
Just fill it with water, wait for the light to change colour, about 10 seconds! and away you go.
It could do with being supplied with 2 mop pads especially as for the first few uses or if not used on a very regular basis, the floor is surprisingly dirty and the mop is pretty dirty after just a short time of use.

Love it, just hope it is reliable after regular use - time will tell.

5th June 2011 Addition: Well, been using for a few weeks now and have to say overall, very pleased still.
Few niggles are that the handle design could do with being a bit chunkier in your hand as this would help with changing direction more smoothly and would be a little more comfortable in the hand after a few minutes.

I never looked forward to cleaning my laminate floors, (I dont have any carpets) so its always mops, heavy buckets of water, resulting in very sore backs.

I recently saw an advert about the Black and Decker FSM1600Steam Mop, and went online to take a look. I was sceptical, it wont work, but read all the reviews anyway and eventualy decided to give it a try.

Well, I have to say it is absolutely fantastic. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and no time I had whizzed round the house with it, cleaned all my floors and not a sore back in sight.

In fact I have a marble floor in my porch which I thought was an off white creamy colour, and was shocked to discover that its actually white.

Its so easy to assemble and very light to use. My 80yr old mother is trying it out this afternoon and if she likes it, I will buy her one too.
